I had posted this on facebook Friday, but I know most of you don't know where I am there.  So I wanted to share this with you all.  (Sorry to those who have already seen it.)

I took 10 years off my life today...I was trying to cut off some of Rosie's mats in her fur, when I cut her. I raced her to the vet and he assured me that I wasn't the first person to do that nor the last. He put some staples on the wound and cut off some nails that were digging into her feet. Poor little girl.

Oh, little Rosie... I do hope you're okay. I know your mom didn't mean to do that. She was only trying to help. But, I have to say, this is why my sister Tess views the scissors as evil icky things. But so are matts in the fur. Hope your mom gave you some special treats to make up for it.

Rosie, sometimes when Moms are trying to help, they accidentally hurt their babies. WE know she is hurting with you!

That would have taken years off the life of our human, too, but it was just an accident. We are glad Rosie is okay...time for you to have a cup of tea or whatever you prefer!

We are glad Rosie is okay. Our mum used to be a groomer many years ago so she knows how easily it can happen.

Don't feel bad. I did the same thing to one of my previous cats. I was trying to cut a mat and cut him. Fortunately, it wasn't too bad of a cut and didn't require vet care. But I felt terrible!! So I know how you feel. I'm glad Rosie is okay.

Don't worry or feel bad - Rosie will heal up and everything will be back to normal. Mats are tough to get out sometimes.

Oh sweetie Rosie. We hope your ouchie heals quickly.
As for Mommy Cindy, the vet is right. And mats can be rather tricky to remove. You may want to try using a clipper next time. And keep the skin taut as you clip.

Rosie looks like she is resting comfortably. She is probably just glad she got those nails cut that were digging into her foot.

Oh Cindy,
That must have been so scary! I am so glad that Marshmallow's fur doesn't mat. With my eyes I know I could accidentally cut him.

I'm glad she's okay! It was probably lots hard on you than on her.
